R P Compliance Testing Ltd provides a range of services to meet the compliance requirements of Building Regulations Approved Documents E, F and L for the construction industry, together with PAT testing of portable electrical appliances.
Established January 2012, the company quickly gained certification to a range of national standards, including ISO 9001 for its quality management system; ISO 14001, the environmental management system; ISO 17025 laboratory-specific standard with UKAS for building leakage testing; CHAS the health and safety accredited contractor scheme; and Constructionline as a pre-qualified supplier.
R P Compliance Testing Ltd makes valuable contributions to new homes and commercial buildings by testing to ensure they meet statutory regulations for health, safety and energy use.
We are currently one of 25 companies UKAS accredited for building leakage testing, enabling us to test all types of buildings. Services and their benefits include:
Energy efficiency in the home: air tightness, thermal imaging and ventilation testing parts F and L are designed to minimise heat loss/gains through the fabric of buildings and ensure a healthy and efficient environment for occupants while costs are kept to a minimum with maximum comfort for occupants.
Sound insulation testing: for Part E, which ensures sound transfer between flats and attached dwellings meets a minimum standard. This means people can live their lives without interruption of noise transfer from neighbours.
Building calculations: including SAP ratings, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and SBEMs to ensure buildings meet the government minimum requirement for energy and environmental standards under part L.
PAT testing: electrical safety testing of portable appliances ensuring safe use of equipment in the workplace or anywhere that has a responsibility to comply.
In recent years, greater concern for the dangers associated with carbon monoxide has led the company to become involved in raising awareness, particularly with school children.
Carbon monoxide is a toxic gas that is odourless, tasteless, colourless and very difficult for people to detect. It is created by inadequate burning of fuels owing to insufficient supply of oxygen and/or faulty equipment. Inhalation of the gas can lead to mild poisoning, with symptoms ranging from headaches, vertigo, confusion and more acute poisoning causing significant toxicity of the nervous system, heart and even death.
Our services are designed to minimise the potential for such occurrence in new properties, and we actively encourage owners of older properties to have routine health checks performed on their homes.
